《普贤王如来祈祷能显自然智根
本愿文》
Samantabhadra Buddha Self-emanating Penetrating Wisdom Pranidhana prayer text




吙!法界轮涅诸幻相,一根二道成二果,觉与无明所变现.


Ah Ho!
Of all phenomenon of the universe, both the samsara and nirvarna, they are arising from the single root of origin, following dichotomize division resulting in 2 manifestations:-Intrinsic awareness and the ignorance (lack of awareness).


由我普贤广大愿,令一切于法界宫,

现前证得佛陀位.

By my prayer on Samantabhadra pranidhana (vast aspiration),may all beings of the entire Dharmadhatu (universe of existence), attaining the status of supreme Buddhatva (buddhahood).


真如体性本无为,法尔广大不可思,

轮回涅槃名原无,明了法尔即佛陀,

众生无明轮回转.


The true nature of Bhu^ta-tathata is Sunyata (basis of the foundation of existence is voidness in nature).
The truth of Dharma is vast beyond one’s comprehension. Samsara and nirvarna are equally void in name.
Fully comprehend the true nature of dharma is known as a “Buddha”, without comprehend this (with ignorance) are sentient beings, thus wandering in the wheel of samsara.

普愿三界有情众,断惑圆证真实义,

我普贤王如实说,真如实际离因缘,

空性圆具本觉智.

My aspiration for the sentient beings of trayo dhātavaḥ (three realms): May all of them sever the ignorance and attain the ultimate truth of dharma.
I, Samantabhadra Budhha preaching the ultimate truth of the dharma, Bhu^ta-tathata is non origin-dependent, free from cause and condition. Within Sunyata composes the nir-vikalpa-jn~a^na (wisdom of self arising intrinsic awareness)
[Explaination:
trayo dhātavaḥ三界:- Three realms 1)欲界kāma –dhātu 2) 色界(rūpa -dhātu)3]无色界(arūpa -dhātu)]


内外增减过犯无,失念黑暗心垢离,

体性明空无过染,本觉清净原安住.

Inner thoughts and external expression, whether increase or decrease has no interference with it (intrinsic self awareness). Neither has it any defilement.
When illicit thoughts and cloudiness (darkness) of the mind is cleared, the true nature of primordial state of existence is luminously clear without stain or defect. The intrinsic self arising awareness is pure embody in its natural state!


三界毁坏亦无畏,不著贪欲五浊尘,

自显无别自然智,本净无色无五毒.

Even if the trayo dhātavaḥ is destroyed, none of it is to be feared; No desire and non-attachment to the five material faculties (pañcannaṃ indriyānaṃ avakanti). It is just a manifestation of natural wisdom of intrinsic awareness (nir-vikalpa-jn~a^na), pure in essence, thoughtless, formless and absent of five klesa (poisons).

Five material faculties: sight, sound, smell, taste, sensation.
Five klesa (poisons): Greed, hatred, ignorance, ego, jeaolosy)]



自性明照未尝碍,清净自性即五智,

于此五智成熟中,生起五方原始佛.

智慧增广进诣时,生起文佛四十二,

由显五智威光力,生起五八饮血尊,

本体元明未尝迷.

The existence of true self intrinsic awareness illuminates without any hindrance, its pureness and clarity essence display the five wisdom (Arapacana).
With the ripening of these five wisdom, emerge the five primordial Dhyani Budhhas.
Through wisdom transformation and propagation, arising of the forty two peaceful Buddhas. Manifesting the supreme power of the five wisdom, arising the fifty eight  Heruka (Wrathful deities). The intrinsic essence origin (awareness) is clear and never ever lost.

五方原始佛:毗卢遮那佛 不动如来 宝生如来 阿弥陀佛 不空成就如来]




我是原始本初佛,由佛所发大愿力,

三界轮回有情众,了知自然本觉智,

增广无上大智慧,无间相续我变现,

俱胝等流应化身.

I am the primordial Buddha of origin (Adibuddha), from the great supreme power of buddha pranidhana (aspiration), may all the sentient beings wandering in the wheel of samsara, be fully realize this natural wisdom of intrinsic awareness ( nir-vikalpa-jn~a^na). Thus cultivate the supreme great wisdom (prajna), my emanations manifest at all times and all places, with infinite numbers and types of appearance. (koti nis!yanda nirma^n!a-ka^ya).


应由有求善调伏,由我慈悲祈祷愿,

三界轮回有情众,六道苦处悉解脱.

迷诸惑幻无始众,由不正知失本明,

由失正念住黑暗,彼即无知颠倒因.

With the wish and request to be subdued, with my compassionate prayer of pranidhana, may sentient beings in the wheel of samsara, the suffering of the six realms of existence thus all be liberated!
Since countless time ago beings has been deluded, lost and confused. Lack of right understanding, fail to recognize intrinsic self awareness. Absent of right thoughts lead to mental darkness, causing unawareness and mental impediments.


从彼惊恐闷绝中,念动苏醒生怖畏,

自他贪嗔起执持,习气薰染渐增长,

随行习性逐生死,五阴炽盛苦恼逼,

滋生无间五毒业,成为众生惑幻因,

即不正知与失念.

From the jittery and miserable state, arising wandering thoughts with wavering fear. Attachment to greed and hatred, this energy surrounds oneself and propagate, following this pattern (habit) of action running after life and death.
Five skandhas spurt into misery then follow, nurturing the five profound poisons karma, thus cause the ignorant and deluded sentient being, without realizing the truth and persist with wrong thought.

Five skandhas 1. Name/form (ru^pa-skandha)2. Feeling (vedana)3. Conception (samjna) 4. Impulse/mental volition (samskara); 5. Consciousness(vijnana.)
五阴: 色蕴,受蕴,想蕴,行蕴,识蕴]


由佛所发大愿力,皆自了知明觉性.

By the practice of great pranidhana of the Buddha, one is able to recognize intrinsic self awareness that is luminous & clear in nature!


俱生无明蔽本觉,生起失念散乱心,

分别无明逐尘境,分立自他二执取,

俱生分别二无明,即是众生颠倒因.

Since the beginning of time, Avidya (mental ignorance) hinders intrinsic self awareness!
Arising of wrong thoughts and disorganized mind, Avidya nature is dualistic and running after worldly faculties. Tendencies are towards attachment and dichotomize.
Forever dualistic nature of Avidya, this is the cause of confused sentient beings.


由佛所发大愿力,令诸轮回有情众,

消除失念黑暗坑,清净能所二妄执,

了知本具自明性.

By the practice of great pranidhana of the Buddha, may the sentient beings of the wheel of samsara, eliminate the wrong thoughts and elevate from dark ignorance pit, purify and eliminate dualistic attachments, recognizing your own intrinsic self awareness of clear luminous true nature!

心著二执起犹豫,形成微细贪著心,

习气薰染渐增长,于衣食伴侣财处,

以及五欲亲眷等,贪著欲乐炽热恼.

A dualistic mind with attachment induces doubts. This in turn creates subtle thought of greed. This energy (habit) further surrounds oneself, propagate and turn stronger. In craving for clothes, food, home, money and property, similarly with friends, family and relatives, greed and desires cause torment and misery.


彼令世间惑幻生,由是二取业无尽,

贪嗜果报成熟时,生贪欲恼饿鬼中,

常受难忍饥渴苦.

Allowing these worldly delusion and ignorance to arise, such action of desire and attachment is never ending, when the fruition of these karma of greed ripens, you are born within the realm of preta (hungry ghost), tormented by unbearable hunger and thirst.


由佛所发大愿力,普令贪欲诸有情,

不舍外来贪欲境,不取内生贪著根,

自心觉了宽坦住,任持安住自明觉,

转成妙观察智道.

By the practice of great pranidhana of the Buddha, may the sentient beings with greed and desire, neither attach external elements of greed nor internal root of greed. Intrinsic self awareness is always relief and ease, let it hold to its own natural state, forever it is engage and embody in clear luminosity of intrinsic self awareness, thus achieving the wisdom of perfect discernment!


外境所显诸幻相,念动微细怖畏生,

从此增长嗔习气,忿起怨敌杀害心,

嗔恚果报成熟时,长受地狱苦煎熬.

External objects and events are phenomenon of illusion; subtle activity of the consciousness fear arises, leading to propagating energy (habit) of anger and hatred. Hostility, violence and wish to kill the enemy arise. When the fruition of anger and hatred ripens, reborn in hell continuously suffer by boiling and burning.


由佛所发大愿力,令趣六道诸众生,

嗔恚猛烈生长时,自心放松莫取舍,

任持安住自明觉,转成大圆镜智道.

By the practice of great pranidhana of the Buddha, may the sentient beings of the six realms of existence, when the fire of hatred and anger is flaming, let your intrinsic inner self relax in its natural state neither attachment nor reject, engage and embody in clear luminosity of intrinsic self awareness, thus achieving the perfect wisdom of clarity!


由于自心高举起,于他生起骄慢心,

如是猛烈胜骄慢,自他欺凌而苦恼,

彼业果报成熟时,暂生天道报尽堕.

Due to unleash self ego ness, the thought of snob arises. Such tremendous ego and snobbishness, humiliating others and create misery. When the fruition of such karma ripens, will temporary reborn in the heaven, but descent (into lower realms) when merits expire.


由佛所发大愿力,令骄慢心诸众生,

觉了自心宽坦住,任持安住自明觉,

转成平等性智道.

By the practice of great pranidhana of the Buddha, may the sentient beings with unleash egoness, practicing self awareness at its own state, relief and ease, engage and embody in clear luminosity of intrinsic self awareness, thus achieving the wisdom of equanimity!


由二执薰染习气,自赞毁他痛苦业,

增长斗争疑妒心,投生杀戮非天处,

果堕泥黎地狱中.

Due to habit of dualistic tendency, self praise and denigrating others bring misery, propagating the thought of confrontation, suspicious and jealousy. When the fruition of such karma ripens, will reborn in the realm of Asura (fighting demi god), following that decent into hell.


由佛所发大愿力,嫉妒斗争生起时,

莫起怨敌心松坦,任持安住自明觉.

By the practice of great pranidhana of the Buddha, may the sentient beings who encounter jealousy and confrontation, do not cast a thought of hatred towards enemy, be dwell in natural state of clear luminosity of intrinsic self awareness, thus achieving the wisdom of unobstructed action!


不正念舍及散乱,有藏昏沉和妄念,

昏睡懈怠愚痴者,果感畜生无依怙.

Possessing illicit thoughts, disorganized and being unmindful, full of dullness and foggy mind, drowsy, lazy plus ignorance, fruition of these will reborn in animal realm helplessly.


由佛所发大愿力,令心愚痴黑暗者,

发露净心住正念,转成法界体性智.

By the practice of great pranidhana of the Buddha, may the beings in the dark pit of ignorance and cloudy mind, cultivate pureness and maintain mindfulness, thus achieving the wisdom free of thought.

三界所有诸众生,真如体性与佛等,

失念故成颠倒因,无间造诣无义业,

犹如梦幻趣六道.

All sentient beings of the trayo dhātavaḥ, their true nature of Bhu^ta-tathata (intrinsic true self) has no difference with that of the Buddha. Due to wrong understanding thus causing mental impediments, enduring countless of karma aimlessly, more like dream and delusion that dwell the six realm of existence.


我是最初普贤佛,化身调伏六道众.

我普贤王广大愿,令诸众生一无余,

无尽法界成正觉。

I am the primordial Adibuddha of Samantabhadra, manifested nirmakaya (incarnation to various forms) to subdue sentient beings of the six realms of existence.
May the practice of this Samantabhadra Buddha pradnidhana, be able to salvage all sentient beings in the entire universe without any single omission, to attain the supreme state of Dharmadhatu (ultimate enlightenment).


阿吙!具慈瑜伽大力者,了智自明离惑幻,

已发如是广大愿,闻持此愿诸众生,

于三生内必成佛.

Ah Ho!
For those compassionate, earnest and diligent dharma practitioner, attaining the wisdom of intrinsic self awareness and clear of mental ignorance and delusion. He who has proclaimed such supreme pradnidhana, those who practice and comprehend this pradnidhana, is able to attain Buddhatva (buddhahood) in three lifetimes.


或于日月蚀时日,风暴雷发地动变,

或于冬夏至年节,发心自修为普贤,

与众虔敬诵此愿,令诸三界有情众,

由彼瑜伽行者愿,灭苦解脱生死海,

获证究竟佛陀位。

Or during the solar and lunar eclipse, events of typhoon, thunder strike and earth quakes, or during winter and summer solstices till new year, self determine to practice as Samantabhadra, together with other beings diligently and devotedly recite this pranidhana, may the sentient beings of trayo dhātavaḥ, with the aspiration of the practitioner on this pranidhana, achieving ceasation of suffering and liberate from the ocean of life and death, finally attaining the ultimate supreme Buddhatva.


原始本初佛普贤王如来为度六道一切有情众生,

发不可思议胜妙大愿,使一切有情众生不由自主,

超脱轮回,即可成佛。功德无量。尤其在不吉祥、

遇动、大灾大难或高山风口、江海岸边、众生聚集

处念颂大愿文,极其殊胜,无量功德,众生听闻后

三世之内即可成佛。

Origin primordial Adibuddha of Samantabhadra, for the sake of liberates all sentient beings of the six realms of existence, proclaimed such inconceivable supreme pranidhana, in order for all sentient beings irresistible liberate from the wheel of samsara, spontaneously attaining buddhatva.
The merit of this practice is immeasurable. Especially in the event of misfortune, earth rumbles, major disasters, or at the mountain wind gap, major river or seaside, location where beings gather, recite this supreme pranidhana is ulmost precious and valuable. The merits is immeasurable. Beings who listen to this pranidhana are able to attain Buddhatva in three lifetimes.

大方廣佛華嚴經入不可思議解脫境界

普賢行願品:

Samantabhadracarya pranidhana
(English: The Extraordinary Aspiration Of the Practice of Samantabhadra The King of Prayers)


爾時,普賢菩薩摩訶薩,欲重宣此義,

普觀十方,而說偈言:

Thus, the Samantabhadra Bodhisattva after viewing the 10 direction of the universe recites the following stanza:

所有十方世界中,三世一切人師子,

我以清淨身語意,一切遍禮盡無餘。

In the entire universe of ten directions, the past, present and future, To all the great Guru of the humanbeing, with purified body, speech and mind, sincerely I deeply bow down without any reservation.

普賢行願威神力,普現一切如來前,

一身複現刹塵身,一一遍禮刹塵佛。

The power of aspiration from the Samantabhadracarya, present before all the Tatagatha! With as many bodies as countless dust, to the countless Buddhas of the entire universe, I deeply bow down with respect.

于一塵中塵數佛,各處菩薩衆會中,

無盡法界塵亦然,深信諸佛皆充滿。

On every single dust of universe consist infinite numbers of Buddhas, each buddha amidst a host of bodhisattvas, thus is true for the infinite universe is occupied bodhisattvas who have deep faith in the Buddha.

各以一切音聲海,普出無盡妙言辭,

盡于未來一切劫,贊佛甚深功德海。

With their oceans of voices in praise, produce infinite speech of sweet nectar,through out the future of all aeons, I recite and praise the excellent and profound merits of all Buddhas!

以諸最勝妙華鬘,伎樂塗香及傘蓋,

如是最勝莊嚴具,我以供養諸如來。

Using the most beautiful flowers and regal garlands, with soft music, scented oils and parasols, Sparkling lights and sublime incense, I make offering to all Tathagata.

最勝衣服最勝香,末香燒香與燈燭,

一一皆如妙高聚,我悉供養諸如來。

Finnest dress and the highest quality fragrant perfumes, Sandalwood powder, incense and lighting candles, piling up high like great mountains,I thus make wondrous offering to all Tathagata.

我以廣大勝解心,深信一切三世佛,

悉以普賢行願力,普遍供養諸如來。

With transcendent mind of understanding, deep inner faith to the Tathagata of the past, present and future, with the practice of Samantabhadracarya , I perform the highest offering to all Tathagata!

我昔所造諸惡業,皆由無始貪嗔痴,

從身語意之所生,一切我今皆懺悔。

For all unwholesome act (akusala karma)of the past, caused by greed, anger and ignorant, which were arising from body, speech and mind. I now sincerely declare my repentance.

十方一切諸衆生,二乘有學及無學,

一切如來與菩薩,所有功德皆隨喜。

For all beings in ten direction of the universe, for all those who are in practice or not in practice (dharma), for all the Tathagata and Bodhisattvas, I lift up my heart and rejoice in all their potential merits.

十方所有世間燈,最初成就菩提者,

我今一切皆勸請,轉于無上妙法輪。

For all the bright luminosity of worlds in ten directions, the first Who attained the awakening (of a Buddha), I deeply applaud to them, to turn the supreme wheel of Dharma.

諸佛若欲示涅槃,我悉至誠而勸請,

唯願久住刹塵劫,利樂一切諸衆生。

For Buddha(s) who are about to enter Maha-parinirvarna, I whole heartedly request:,Do stay with us for countless eons, for the sake of guiding and benefiting all sentient beings!

所有禮贊供養福,請佛住世轉法輪,

隨喜懺悔諸善根,回向衆生及佛道。

By all the merits of offering and prostration, I request the Buddha(s) remain longer stay in the world to turn the wheel of dharma. Rejoice, repent and all the wholesome deeds, I share my merits to all sentient beings and to the path of practicing the dharma.

我隨一切如來學,修習普賢圓滿行,

供養過去諸如來,及與現在十方佛。

I follow the path and guidance of all Tathagata, to fully accomplish the Samantabhadracarya. I make offering to all Tathagata of all ten directions of the universe, the past, present and future.

未來一切天人師,一切意樂皆圓滿,

我願普隨三世學,速得成就大菩提。

For the future gurus of the human and heaven, all rejoice in perfecting the mind.I wish to continue learning through the past, present and future lives, to be able to rapidly attaining the buddhahood.

所有十方一切刹,廣大清淨妙莊嚴,

衆會圍繞諸如來,悉在菩提樹王下。

All ten direction of the universe, of the past present and future, they are Supreme bliss, pure and gorgeous. Beings from all directions of universe gather under the Bodhi tree surrounding Tathagata.


十方所有諸衆生,願離憂患常安樂,

獲得甚深正法利,滅除煩惱盡無餘。

Beings of the ten direction universe, wish to liberate from sufferings, worries and be joyful and peaceful. Obtain the benefits from the ultimate truth by following the teaching of Dharma, forever cessation of worries and ending of suffering.

我爲菩提修行時,一切趣中成宿命,

常得出家修淨戒,無垢無破無穿漏。

While I practice the dharma during my past lives in all varieties of existence, from birth, life and death, I renounced and lived a holy life, without misdeeds, compromise nor lacking.

天龍夜叉鳩盤荼,乃至人與非人等,

所有一切衆生語,悉以諸音而說法。

The nagas, yaksa, demons, even human or non human beings , of all the languages comprehended by all the beings, I uses voices of them for the preaching of dharma.

勤修清淨波羅密,恒不忘失菩提心,

滅除障垢無有餘,一切妙行皆成就。

Diligently I practice the pure Paramitas, never did I abandon the bodhicitta.
By clearing the unwholesome deeds without omission, accomplish all the wonderful practice of dharma.

于諸惑業及魔境,世間道中得解脫,

猶如蓮華不著水,亦如日月不住空。

Clearing the ignorance and demonic state, able to attain the path of liberation and freedom in the world.
Just as the lotus blossom without being stained by water droplets, similarly just as the sun and moon travel unhindered through the sky.

悉除一切惡道苦,等與一切群生樂,

如是經于刹塵劫,十方利益恒無盡。

I cease the suffering of the lower realms, may I share this joyfulness with all sentient beings. Thus, I went through tremendous aeons, beings form the ten direction of universe benefited limitless.

我常隨順諸衆生,盡于未來一切劫,

恒修普賢廣大行,圓滿無上大菩提。

I am in harmony with all beings at all times, even in the future aeons yet to come. Persistently I practice the Samantabhadracraya pranidhana, perfecting the supreme path of enlightenment.

所有與我同行者,于一切處同集會,

身口意業皆同等,一切行願同修學。

All those who had practice together with me, who had gather with me at all encounters, with body, speech and mind of similar achievement, may we together practice this pranidhana.

所有益我善知識,爲我顯示普賢行,

常願與我同集會,于我常生歡喜心。

May all the spiritual gurus provide me guidance and demonstrate on the practice Samantabhadracraya pranidhana, willing gather with me, empower within me the tremendous joy and happiness.

願常面見諸如來,及諸佛子衆圍繞,

于彼皆興廣大供,盡未來劫無疲厭。

May I always face to face with Tathagata, and encircled by many Bodhisattvas. May I make extensive, highest offerings to them, even in aeons to come without pause, bored or disheartened.

願持諸佛微妙法,光顯一切菩提行,

究竟清淨普賢道,盡未來劫常修習。

May I hold within me the Buddha's supreme Dharma, clearly manifest with full bodhicitta. Ultimate pureness of the Samantabhadracraya practice, may I forever practice this in all future eons.

我于一切諸有中,所修福智恒無盡,

定慧方便及解脫,獲諸無盡功德藏。

Wandering through the various states of existence, may I gain limitless merits and wisdom by practicing dharma, attaining Samadhi, Prajna and liberation, acquisition of limitless potential merits.

一塵中有塵數刹,一一刹有難思佛,

一一佛處衆會中,我見恒演菩提行。

In a single tiny dust contain countless universes; each universe has inconceivable Buddhas within, for each universe of the Buddha, I see the practice of dharma endlessly.

普盡十方諸刹海,一一毛端三世海,

佛海及與國土海,我遍修行經劫海。

Entire ten directions oceans of the Buddhas, for every single tip of hair, it contains ocean of the past present and future..! Ocean of the Buddhas and Ocean of all kindoms, may I too practice the dharma through countless aeons.

一切如來語清淨,一言具衆音聲海,

隨諸衆生意樂音,一一流佛辯才海。

Purified speeches of the Buddhas, single stanza contains countless ocean of qualities. Expression that suits the needs of sentient beings, forever it is fluent and eloquent.

三世一切諸如來,于彼無盡語言海,

恒轉理趣妙法輪,我深智力普能入。

Tathagata of the past, present and future, with countless ad limitless ocean of speech , persistently turning the supreme wheel of dharma, I am able to encompass with profound wisdom.

我能深入于未來,盡一切劫爲一念,

三世所有一切劫,爲一念際我皆入。

I shall enter into the future, experience the entire aeon as a moment, for all the aeons in the past, present and future, arising of each single thought I am able to engage.

我于一念見三世,所有一切人師子,

亦常入佛境界中,如幻解脫及威力。

Within each thought is the past, present and future, all the Supreme leader of human world, similarly may engage into the Buddha realm, attaining the power of illusion, construction and liberation.

于一毛端極微中,出現三世莊嚴刹,

十方塵刹諸毛端,我皆深入而嚴淨。

Within the tiny tip of a single hair, it manifests the gorgeous universe of the past, present and future. Within the tip of the gorgeous universe of ten directions, I am able to engage with profound pureness and holiness.

所有未來照世燈,成道轉法悟群有,

究竟佛事示涅槃,我皆往詣而親近。

All the future luminous light of the world (referring to Buddha), those who will enlighten and turning the dharma wheel, perfecting the ultimate duty of the Buddha by revealing the Nirvarna, may I get to know them and be close to them.

速疾周遍神通力,普門遍入大乘力,

智行普修功德力,威神普覆大慈力。

May I obtain the universal power of magical emanation without delay, be able to engage the Mahayana dharma in every aspect, be able to practice profound wisdom and merits, generate powerful elements of great compassion.

遍淨莊嚴勝福力,無著無依智慧力,

定慧方便威神力,普能積集菩提力.

Attaining pure, gorgeous and powerful merits, generating power of wisdom that neither attach nor dependent. Samadhi, prajna and transcended power will accumulate the power of bodhicitta.

清淨一切善業力,摧滅一切煩惱力,

降服一切諸魔力,圓滿普賢諸行力。

Purified all wholesome karmic forces, abandon all disturbing mental worries, subdue all Mara forces, perfecting the power of Samantabhadracarya practice.

普能嚴淨諸刹海,解脫一切衆生海。

善能分別諸法海,能甚深入智慧海。

May I purify all the ocean of samsara, liberate all sentient beings from the ocean of samsara. May I see the differences in ocean of dharma, able to engage in profound ocean of wisdom.

普能清淨諸行海,圓滿一切諸願海,

親近供養諸佛海,修行無倦經劫海。

May i purify the ocean of action, perfecting all the ocean of aspiration.
May I enter and perform offering to ocean of Buddhas, practice the dharma without bored and tired for ocean of aeons.

三世一切諸如來,最勝菩提諸行願,

我皆供養圓滿修,以普賢行悟菩提。

Tathagata of the past, present and future, with the highest merits of dharma aspiration, I shall perform my offering and practice the perfection of dharma, based on Samantabadracarya in attaining the supreme enlightenment!

一切如來有長子,彼名號曰普賢尊,

我今回向諸善根,願諸智行悉同彼。

For all Tathagata present an eldest son, given the name as “Samantabhadra”, now I transfer all the merits of my wholesome deeds, may all my wise practice to be same as Samantabhadra.

願身口意恒清淨,諸行刹土亦複然,

如是智慧號普賢,願我與彼皆同等。

May my body, speech and mind be pure forever, similarly with all my action, at all moments and at all encounters, such wisdom is named as Samatabhadra, may I be the same level with Samatabhadra.

我爲遍淨普賢行,文殊師利諸大願,

滿彼事業盡無餘,未來際劫恒無倦。

May I practice the pure Samantabadracarya at all times, together with the great aspiration of Manjushri Bodhisattva, without omission in carrying out the practice of dharma, through out the future aeons without bored and disheartened.

我所修行無有量,獲得無量諸功德,

安住無量諸行中,了達一切神通力。

May the practice of Dharma be immeasurable, similarly obtaining tremendous and countless merits. Engage in measureless practice of dharma, obtaining the penetrating magnificent power.

文殊師利勇猛智,普賢慧行亦複然,

我今回向諸善根,隨彼一切常修學。

Supreme wisdom and Courage of Manjushri Boddhisattva, Samantabadracarya is of similar quality. May I perform sharing and transfer of all my merits, may I constantly learn extensively from both Boddhisattavas.

三世諸佛所稱嘆,如是最勝諸大願,

我今回向諸善根,爲得普賢殊勝行。

Buddhas of the past, present, and future, praise such practice of dharma, this is the highest among all pranidhanas (aspirations). May I perform sharing of all my merits, for the purpose of attaining extraordinary supreme Samantabadracarya pranidhana.

願我離欲命終時,盡除一切諸障礙,

面見彼佛阿彌陀,即得往生安樂刹。

At the time of my passing away in my final moment of life, I am liberated from all obstacles. Face to face meeting Amitabha Buddha , immediately may I be liberated to the land of Sukhavati . (pureland of peace and bliss).

我既往生彼國已,現前成就此大願,

一切圓滿盡無餘,利樂一切衆生界。

Once I am liberated to the land of Sukhavati , may I accomplish and actualize the practice of Samantabadracarya pranidhana. Complete awakening without traces of omission, for the sake of all sentient beings for as long as this world endures.

彼佛衆會咸清淨,我時于勝蓮華生,

親睹如來無量光,現前授我菩提記。

The beings of the land of Sukhavati are pure, thus I am reborn via an extremely beautiful blossom lotus. I visualize the great luminosity from the Buddha, may I receive a prediction of my awakening and blessing directly from Amitabha Buddha.

蒙彼如來授記已,化身無數百俱胝,

智力廣大遍十方,普利一切衆生界。

Having completed receiving such prediction and blessing, may I transcend with billions of emanation (nirmakaya). Profound wisdom power which fulfill the ten directions, for the benefits of all beings and realm of existence.

乃至虛空世界盡,衆生及業煩惱盡,

如是一切無盡時,我願究竟恒無盡。

Even if the empty universe, all sentient beings and their karmic worries ends, when everything else is ending, my aspiration of Samantabadracarya pranidhana last forever without ending.

十方所有無邊刹,莊嚴衆寶供如來,

最勝安樂施天人,經一切刹微塵劫。


In all the ten directions of limitless world, gathering of all jewellery for the offering of Buddha, performing such deeds of offering through countless aeons,
will produce tremendous merits.


若人于此勝願王,一經于耳能生信,

求勝菩提心渴仰,獲勝功德過于彼。

A being that receive and practice the Samantabadracarya pranidhana, determine to attain boddhicitta, the merits obtained by such man out weigh the previous merits.


即常遠離惡知識,永離一切諸惡道,

速見如來無量光,具此普賢最勝願。

Similarly he will be protected from wrong knowledge and will be far away from the lower realms of existence and sufferings. He will perceive the endless light of Tathagata and poses the quality of Samantabadra.


此人善得勝壽命,此人善來人中生,

此人不久當成就,如彼普賢菩薩行。

Such being will encounter good long life, such being will often be born in human world, such being will also soon attain full liberation, by the practicing Samantabadracarya.

往昔由無智慧力,所造極惡五無間,

誦此普賢大願王,一念速疾皆消滅。

In the past incalculable bad karma performed due to lack of wisdom. By reciting Samantabadracarya pranidhana such bad karmic forces diminish within split of seconds.

族姓種類及容色,相好智慧咸圓滿,

諸魔外道不能摧,堪爲三界所應供。

The ethnicity, tribe and external appearance of such being is good, prosperous and full of wisdom. Maras are not able to destroy him and he is always respected by all beings of the triloka (three level of the existence).

速詣菩提大樹王,坐已降服諸魔衆,

成等正覺轉法輪,普利一切諸含識。

Soon he will arrive at the Bodhi tree and attain supreme enlightenment after subdue all Maras. He will turn the wheel of dharma for the sake of all sentient beings.

若人于此普賢願,讀誦受持及演說,

果報唯佛能證知,决定獲勝菩提道。

If someone has encounter this Samantabadracarya pranidhana, recite it, practice it and able to proclaim it, the merits of such act will only be known and certified by the Buddha, he is definitely on the path to the supreme Buddhava (Buddha path).

若人誦持普賢願,我說少分之善根,

一念一切悉皆圓,成就衆生清淨願。

If one recites this Samantabadracarya pranidhana, through even a small fraction of his merit, a single thought is able to accomplish total perfection, to fulfill the pure aspiration of other sentient beings.

我此普賢殊勝行,無邊勝福皆回向,

普願沉溺諸衆生,速往無量光佛刹。

By the prayer of Samantabadracarya pranidhana, may I share and transfer all merits,
all sentient beings wander and suffer in the world of samsara will be liberated to the realm of Amitabha Buddha pure land of bliss.


喃摩大行普賢菩薩摩訶薩!三遍


廻 向
奇哉勝妙普賢尊 善巧方便極難聞
真觀妙觀不二觀 三世諸佛出生處
如此普賢行願力 一切功德之總集
諸佛同口窮劫宣 難盡微塵一塵端
誦此普賢大願王 所獲功德亦如是
如是難量勝功德 供養尊師佛菩薩
一切護法威神眾 哀祈愍念唯受供
受已恆放大光明 廣滅有情諸罪墮
廣令如母諸有情 疾發無上菩提心
如是難量勝功德 廽向曆劫善惡緣
父母眷屬情非情 速滅諸苦生安樂
所有一切見聞者 悉獲無量勝功德
皆發無上菩提心 於普賢尊同集會
盡此如幻一報身 速見彌陀成寶王
如此功德勝難量 供養安樂求見佛

回 向

願以此功德 壯嚴佛淨土

上報四重恩 下濟三途苦

若有見聞者 悉發菩提心

盡此一報身 同生極樂國
